Best Windlass Solutions for Hunter 30_88-94

I'd like to add a windlass to my H30_88-94, which has the factory-standard angled bow roller and anchor locker. I'm open to manual or electric. If anyone has installed a windlass on this model Hunter and would please share photos/details I would very much appreciate it. Thanks in advance for any advice/information/suggestions.

Windlass for Hunter '93 30T

I installed a Lewmar manual windlass in my 1993 Hunter 30T. It works great. I wouldn't be without it. Info on request. I've got pics of the installation somewhere in my computer, but the idea is pretty clear. It's installed to the right and slightly behind the anchor locker. I have a 33 lb Bruce and 50' of chain. My windlass handles it easily.

Steve, i would be very interested in any pictures/details you have on your windlass install. I too have a hunter 30T and would like to install a windlass over this winter layup.

Sorry, I haven't checked the forum in awhile. I've attached a pic of my windlass. It is a manual Lewmar windlass. I'm pretty sure they do not market this model any more. (I got it half price from West Marine.)

I wind it around with a shortish winch handle. I sit with my feet in the anchor well and kind of help the rope and chain into the locker as it tends to pile up. This works fine for me.

For installation it was necessary to gauge out the deck core and fill with epoxy and of course add a sturdy backing plate underneath.

I can send more pics, if anybody wants to see them.
