Hi. We need to remove the old identification stickers from both sides of the bow and put on new ones. Any suggestions about the best and safest way to remove the old ones?
I agree with Mr Unix, on our boat I have just removed the one inch hull strip from bow to aft. My guys at my shop use the same thing on 100k cars and we trust nothing less. a cheap drill between 1100-1400 rpm, a little time and some good scratch removal wax...................................
A hair blow dryer (or whatever is called) and anything slightly sharp knive or even better a plastic ruler (or your nails) will do the trick.
This is how I removed all 10 years old stickers from my boat very easily (I have used a plastic ruler after burning my nails!).
Then clean with acetone.
Goof Off works on goo, but is over priced. It actually is xylene, which can be bought in quart (32oz) cans from a hardware for the same price Goof Off charges for 16 oz.
