best way to mount a danforth type anchor on a Macg

Please give me your experienced opinion as to mounting a danforth type anchor on a Macgregor 26X. I bought a West marine Traditional 13 anchor, and some mounting cleats for the bow pulpit. However the stem? of the anchor seems far too long to be accomodated on the pulpit, as well as the roller furling drum being very close. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Anchor Brackets

I particularly like the windline rail mount anchor brackets for danforths. I use one on the bow and another on the stern rail. To stop the anchor shaft from rubbing on the top edge of the gun'l I have slipped a piece of 2" plastic tubing over the anchor's shaft. For a picture of the mount check West Marine page 200 in the new catalog. item # 242529Most of the mounts that i've seen the dealers rig on Macs tho are the Anchor-Loc holder again West Marine #122846. These don't hold the hook quite as securly as I'd like but are probably OK.
