Hello all!

Just downsized from a c25 in order to spend more time trailering. The 25 went in the water in the spring and stayed in her slip all summer. Looking forward to taking the C22 to other places. Which brings me to my question. If you were going to sail on a lake within 4-500 miles in any direction from Omaha, NE , which lake would it be?? I'm thinking big lakes and that includes Michigan and Superior. If you have no clue where Omaha is, then think in terms of Kansas City.

When we lived in the Kansas City area,(for many years), we kept our boats at Lake Perry, (Just maybe 100 SW of you), Smithville Lake, (North of KC), Clinton Lake, (between Topeka and KC), and Lake Stockton,(120 miles south of KC). Best "sailing" lake was Stockton. Big, deep, and VERY clean. Many sailors in the KC area keep their boats down there. There are two big arms on Stockton that run aproximately north and south, and with the prevailing wind from the west gives you some long runs. We also had our original C-22 on the Alton Pool of the Mississippi just north of St. Louis for a couple years,(almost lost our C-22 there during the great flood of 93). Had a GREAT time there. The mighty Mississippi river adds to the adventure. Don't bother taking a sailboat to Lake of the Ozarks, great lake, just not for sailboats,(although we had a GREAT time with dinghy's off the main arms of the lake). Just east of you in Iowa is Sailorville Lake, (not sure if I got the spelling right). Nice BIG lake just north of Des Moines. Had my little Butterfly out on her many times when I was working in Des Moines.
