Sure it makes sense. On my first C-22 I spent hours and hours grinding down each interior locker, then I worked on all the hull to liner joints with thickened WEST epoxy and multiple layers of fiberglass tape to make them all nice and smooth and curved. Then I painted the interior with Interlux 2000/2001 epoxy barrier paint. WOW! the fumes from the barrier paint got a little overwhelming at times! The barrier paint cured real hard, and gave the bilge a nice clean gray look. Working on this project on and off it took a couple years to finish the entire bilge area, but it looked nice and was easy to clean once it was finished. But you know, there's a fine line between dedication and stupidity. Does it make sense? Sure, but probably only to you and me.
