Many thanks everyone. I’m focusing on Marina Village Marina in Mission Bay. I’ll be sending in an application. Sounds ideal to me: proximity to ocean and I-8, permits occasional sleep overs. I just hope they have availability. Hey, Joe, can you put in a good word for me? :)
Good Luck! The first order of business obviously is to get the boat here in a viable situation! After that, you can explore alternatives if wishing to.

These marina applications are overwhelming. I had less trouble getting a mortgage than I’m having getting accepted by CA marinas!

Welcome to Southern California! You’ll be lucky if the marina does not require an out-of-water survey on the boat with $500,000 liability insurance, with the marina named as also insured. (Nearly all ask for that.)

Sure...... what word did you have in mind? heh, heh. Next time I'm down there I'll say hello. Can't hurt asking. The liability and environmental insurance is normal and it costs nothing to add the marina to the policy. However, an out of water survey being required by the marina? Never heard of that around here. Good luck.

Thanks Joe. You don’t need to do that after all. Health issues have caused me to reconsider.

It wouldn’t have helped anyway. Marina Village will only rent to you if you can prove SD county residency.
