As requested I am reposting on the Cherubini Forum. Please excuse if you have already reviewed. Genoa for a H-33 I have almost completed renovation of a Hunter 33 Cherubini, a casualty of hurricanes Jeanne and Francis. The furling jib needs replacement and I am trying to decide on either a 130% or 140%. Sailing conditions here (Atlantic coastal off Boca Raton) are typically 15kt. 4-6 ft seas and in summer 10kt with 3ft waves. The main is relatively small on the H-33 so perhaps the 140 would be better. What do you experienced H-33 owners suggest as best for this boat? Thanks for any information. Henry

Prefer the 130%

Sailing on the Gulf is a little easier than the Atlantic, the waves are are not as much of a factor. The boat has a 130 and sails well. I had a 150 on an Ericson 27 and it was not as balanced as the Hunter 33 with a 130 is. With the main and genny in proper trim the boat sails itself with the wheel locked. You will find that a reef is needed in the main at about 15-20 kts. More than that and the genny also will need to be rolled up some. As you know a full played out genny works much better than a rolled up one. For this reason alone the 130 works well. 10-15 kts is perfect for comfort and good saiing.
