Just acquired a 1986 Hunter 34, taking it from San Francisco to Gulf of California for the winter. Currently the foresail complement includes only a 110 jib, which has been pretty adequate for the typical winds on SF Bay. Am looking at getting a 150 or 135 genoa for the lighter tropical winds of Mexico. Recommendations for best size of genoa for those kinds of winds?

Welcome to the forum, Gordon.. Lots of H-34 owners here and plenty good info in the "Boat Info" sections for the 34..
A 135 should be sufficient in winter, but from the literature, ya shouldn't need more than that..
