Thanks to my wife for helping with rewiring our mast. Made for quick work (and she even heat shrunk and zip tied the bundle correctly!) My job was to keep the 1 year old from getting in the way

Did you wire the mast with it up or down, how did you feed the wires, was there a conduit in the mast?
I have the same job on my to do list. Thanks

Reminds of a story from a sailor I knew in the Bahamas that claimed that he had a friend who would tie a weighted belt and a rope around his wife's waist so that she could clean the bottom of the boat while he drank his beer. Every time she wanted to come up for air she would tug on the line and he would pull her up. Considering the source I believe the story. That is love my friends.

I'm one of the lucky ones, too. My wife wants to learn EVERYTHING! She says that when she gets her license, she's not going to be just a good looking captain, but one who can actually take care of any problems that arise. Some of her accomplishments are;
Main engine removing and reinstalling; the exhaust system (seeking a water leak), the injectors and fuel lines and the oil cooler. Also removing and replacing the starter motor so I can service it.
Generator; removing, cleaning and replacing heat exchanger, the inlet/exhaust manifold, the exhaust hose and next she's going to change the fresh water pump, thermostat and housing. Also removing and replacing the starter motor so I can service it.
Electrically she has installed the wiring for the new windlass, including the solenoid, the remote control deck receptacle and the chain stripper/hole fitting.
There are many other things she does including hanging out aloft when ever the opportunity arises.
I may become redundant soon, or have to start paying her, because I almost feel like a charter guest.
