you do not pay tax on the purchase but remeber that if you are going to register it then your state will collect the tax. (unless you live in Montana) The ones with inflatable floors are easier to store and set up but you are giving up some rigidity, standing stability and durability. You can get some clones on E-Bay at 2/3 price. Prefer an inflatable to a rigid for stability and weight carrying capacity.

Defender sale

Don't know where you are located but the Defender annual sale should be upcoming and they always have a huge selection at good prices.

Check Sam's Club

I picked up a Silver Marine inflatable at Sam's Club. It has an inflatable keel with a wood floor. Listed in Defender catalog at $999. Paid $290.00 at Sam's Club.

Better to purchase one that will last for 15-20 years than to look for the price line.

Achilles LSI88

I bought an 8'-8" Achilles all hypalon w/ an inflatable floor at the Annapolis Boat Show last year for $1,650. Maritime Solutions Inflatables in Annapolis included the Maryland State Registration numbers in that price. Taxes/ registration fee were separate. It was the best deal we could find at the show for all hypalon/inflatable floor. Good Luck.
