Best (compatible) material for diesel fittings

I need to replace, re-route the diesel line to a new fuel pump. I crushed one of the 1/8 pipe fittings from the OEM pump. They look like they are brass.

What would be the best (compatible) material for diesel fittings?

Copper based alloys like brass are fine connected to the pump but they are advised against when connected directly to an aluminum tank.. For that you'd want aluminum or stainless fittings.
