Mast bend?
Will not do much with regard to weather helm other than for the fact that the more "bend" in the mast the flatter your sail and so it has less power. A straight mast puts lots of shape in the sail making it more powerfull.Weather helm can be effected by this only because of the fact that you are adding or removing sail power with mast bend."However" one of the first things you must check with regard to "weather" helm is how much rake you have with the mast. Just how far back does the mast lean. The further back the more weather helm. The more upright the mast is the less weather helm you experiance. You must check with other owners of your model or indeed Hunter and establish how much pre-bend should be in the mast. Set that firstly and then adjust your forestay to get the recommended rake. You will then need to adjust your shrouds to the correct tension however make sure your mast is centered (port-starboard)first.
