Our 47.3 Oceanis Clipper has had a major defect of virtually all interior varnish work resulting in small blisters appearing then resulting in areas of varnish flaking off. It appears that a number of other vessels from a partcular time period have suffered a similar defect. Benneteau personnel have attempted to remedy the defect with a respray but it has been incomplete and to a lesser specification than the original leaving us very disappointed at the quality of the outcome. Have any other members experienced this problem or have had the problem rectified?

Varnish Problem

I have the same problem. A friend across from me has a new 36.7 with the same problem. Beneteau sent a crew out from France to respray the entire interior. They had to come back & do it again. I am seeing them on doors primarily. I will call my dealer & Beneteau to discuss. David Delich s/v First Light (Beneteau Oceanis 331)

Good to hear back from you. Our 47.3 has been resprayed but the quality of the re spray is very poor. They simply replaced all our doors but one of them was defective from new with the varnish being marked, and the nav table top also a new replacement has developed a varnish problem. We are sadly disappointed with the quality of the repair nothing like the promised "highest factory finish" and the fact that they simply didn't attempt to repair many areas, presumably as they would take too much effort. We are at present locked in a legal wrangle to get them to either replace the vessel or refund our purchace price which we believe we are entitled to under New Zealand law or at the very least complete the repair and to the standard that they explicitly said they would.I have some graphic photos of the unacceptable workmanship of the French repair team, but not quite sure how to attach them to this reply. The blisters started on some of our doors also but slowly spread to virtually every piece of flat timber in the vessel. Its a heart breaking problem and the repair has been so shoddy.
