I think anything like that needs to be through a dealer. At least that was our experience with a couple warranty issues when our boat was new. The dealer requested pictures, provided them to Beneteau, then performed the work after talking to them.

Last I heard (after the Marion plant closure) their spare parts division was still operating there. w.richardson@beneteau.com was the traditional point of contact there. But I’m pretty sure they’ll only advise on spare parts.
This information is correct. You will need to have a broker set you up with a customer code which allows you to log into the parts store. I have purchased some parts for my boat back in January with no issues. First step is to contact a broker to get you set up.

My boat is brand new. The house batteries are START batteries. They should be deep cycle batteries. I am not getting anywhere with the dealer on correcting this issue. Also there is a battery drain when I leave the house batteries on with all electrical components turned off……I charge the batteries up to 100 % and 4-5 days later they are doown to 62-64 % with absolutely nothing turned on……
Suggestions?

Ddefinently wrong batteries for the purpose. If they do change them, try negotiating AGM batteries. For weekending and vacation AGM is perfectly fine for that type of use and will give you good service.

For the battery drain, my boat uses 0.8 amp hours with electronics memory etc.

It would be helpful to have a digital ammeter showing the entire boat consumption, but if not, you'll have to wait a few days to check for drainage.

Start with the extremities, so to speak. Right now, all breakers on and all appliances in the OFF position. Drain ?

Next, all breakers and all appliances OFF but main DC breaker in ON. Drain ?

Next, all appliances, all breakers, and main DC breaker OFF. Drain ?

Next, all above OFF and house battery selector OFF ........................

........................ and keep going from there until you disconnect the house batteries as your last OFF. It won't pinpoint the leakage but it definitely narrows it down.

That is very disturbing that the dealer is not addressing problems with a new boat. You can try contacting the main Beneteau customer service office in France to get your local dealer off of their butt.

With regards to ordering parts, I recently (two weeks ago) contacted Ward Richardson for a part number; he replied to my email on same day with a part number & quantity available in stock. Ordered through my local dealer and item was shipped directly from the SC facility.

Mine draws about 0.2A with everything off. Much of that is the DC panel itself (with things like the water tank sensors). Some is the bilge pump electronic water sensor, always on stereo memory circuit, and receiver for the wireless. In a week that would be about 33 AH, so only enough to bring a typical house bank down to 85%.

For troubleshooting you could put a multimeter on the 10A setting inline with the circuit, and see what it reads. But for a brand new boat I’d hope the dealer would help track it down, as losing 10% per day does seem like a lot.

That is 0.8 AH. 18.6 Amps a day.
I still don't think you have that quite right. :)

Amps is an instantaneous measure of current flow. Amp-hours, of Ah, is a measure of Amps over a period of time. So, if you're drawing 0.8A, that will accumulate to 0.8*24=19.2Ah. I can see from what you said that it's 18.6Ah per day, which would be a continuous draw of 0.775A. Just work it out for the units: 0.775A times 24 hours - 18.6 Amp-hours; Amps times hours = Amp-hours.

BTW, we in electrical engineering always capitalize the units that are named after people, so it's Amps after André-Marie Ampère, Volts after Volta, Watts after Watt, and so forth.

Yup. But doing this on the fly while I was working on the boat. Wasn't concentrating on my terminology but i am sure the message was sent.
