2 393 Marina Del Rey
My husband and I are are proud owners of a 2006 Beneteau 393 which we purchased new. We love pretty much everything about her except the interior wood. We still don't know for sure if the finish came off upon commissioning or when it was delivered straight from Beneteau's manufacturing facility. We have huge areas within the boat with no finish at all and other areas with such a shine it nearly blinds you if light hits hit. Most is in the middle and rather dull. It seems like it was supposed to be shiney. Needless to say, the dull surfaces are hard to keep nice. Do any of you know what to do to make a uniform surface on Beneteau's "mystery" (term coined from a Catalina dealer) wood? Is there a wood restoration product that works in a marine environment?

Beneteau Wood Problem

I had the same thing on my 2004 boat. Beneteau sent a crew from France to completely re-do the interior wood. Check with your dealer, then get pictures. Beneteau will only respond through a dealer. This is a common problem and they have addressed it before. (Two boats in my marina had the problem, Beneteau fixed each one.) Note: These boats were purchased new by the current owners.
