WE ARE IN THE PROCESS OF REPLACING THE WOOD VENEER ON THE STEPS TO OUR CABIN. I HAVE AN OAK VENEER, BUT WOULD STILL BE INTERESTED IN THE FOLLOWING: 1. ORIGINAL VENEER (DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE TEAK OR MAHOGANY) 2. RECOMMENDED COMPARABLE STAIN. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP

refinish

Just refinished my steps recently (1990 First 285). Took all the pieces home to garage. Sanded, re-glued some of the veneer with Polyurathane glue, puddied some gouges, and put several coats of marine varnish on. Then, placed anti-skid strips so some of the worst imperfections were covered. Result is nice looking and servicable. I do not have any suggestions on matching the wood. sorry.
