Beneteau 461

Looking for some advise on a Beneteau 461. We are considering purchasing a boat to use next winter cruising the Carribean and like the 461. Does anyone have any comments on the suitability of this model for our plans. Please reply to genm@suzukiindartmouth.com Thanks

Beneteau dominates the Caribbean charter trade. That ought to tell you something.

I have sailed both the BVI and Grenadines in Beneteaus - from the Mooring of course. I've seen 352 to 515s out there and everyone looked happy. I was on 515, 473 and 3800 (cat) - all were fine.

461 will do you proud !!

Friends of ours sailed their 461 in the West Marine Caribbean 1500 a couple of years ago from Chez Bay to the BVI. They stored the boat during the summer season in Grenada...& were lucky to have survived the hurricane that trashed the island. They are now sailing around the Caribbean for their third winter. Not only can the 461 do the job...so can MANY Beneteau models...& just for questions like this one, I have created the Club Beneteau "Hall of Fame". sunsail and moorings

I have heard that Sunsail and Moorings (now owned by Sunsail parent company) are going to upgrade their monohull fleets with Beneteaus exclusively. Danny
