Hi everyone,
First timer here!
I’m TJ, and I recently purchased XTC, a 1998 Beneteau Oceanis 461, three-cabin/three-head version.
I’m currently trying to solve a drainage issue and would appreciate any help, experience, photos, or factory drawings other 461 owners may have.
On XTC, I have a section of the molded structural grid near the starboard aft head/refrigerator area that traps water and does not appear to have a limber/drain hole connecting it to the adjacent bilge compartments. Water collects in this section with no obvious path to the main bilge/sump.
I’ve found reports from other Beneteau 461 owners of factory drain/limber holes apparently being omitted during construction.
Before I attempt to drill anything, I would really like to determine how Beneteau originally intended this area to drain.
Does anyone with a 461/463 have access to this area of their boat? If so, I would greatly appreciate:
Thanks,
TJ

- Photos of the bilge/structural grid around the starboard aft head and refrigerator
- Photos showing any limber or drain holes between the molded grid compartments
- Beneteau structural grid, hull liner, bilge or drainage drawings
- Information on the location and approximate size of the factory drain holes
- Experience with trapped water or missing limber holes on a 461/463
Thanks,
