My throttle cable just broke. Anyone would advise on a replacement cable and how to replace?

Dear Folks:
I think what Pierre is really looking for is someone who may have done the job recently and it would probably not have to be exclusive to his beneteau type. The response of going to the Spare Parts manual is a start, but some real follow up would be of great help. I have seen some folks provide cookbook approaches to problems on this site-no matter the depth of the difficulty. I have not had to do this on my boat yet, otherwise I would respond with more detail.

You are in a widely serviced area and there several marine engine shops/mechanics in MdR that could replace the cable for you. Do on online search or consult a marine directory (these are available at West Marine) for So. Cal. You should also be able to get a good reference on the dock. You could also remove the cable and take it one of the yards (like The Boat Yard on Fiji Way) and have them make one up for you.

I am in the process of extracting the cable myself, but it is kind Of hard to pull out. I imagine pulling it back will be even harder. I am trying to attach some kind of wire so that I will be able to pull the new cable back in. I am trying to get the new Cable before I extract the old one completely this is why I was looking for a reference on a similar cable. Thank you for your input regarding the docks, I will go and ask them today. If you know a reasonable mechanic that could help, fell free to share his contact with me.
