Beneteau 381 stanchion loose

Hey all, my next project is a lose gate for the 381. I had a closer look at it today and seems it's not the bedding/bolt lose but actually the tube having been "expanded". Anyone have a tip how to tighten it? I'm thinking compressing the tube back to an inch, replacing the gate assembly? It has an angled front piece, bend on top and straight down aft so, both feet have same tube flaring. See picture.

Any tips appreciated.

Yup, it was more to show the setup. Beneteau said our boat came with two models to replace these, one is $62 and the other $430, of course ours was the latter. My plan is to drill a hole from the inside and tap it then put a screw in there. All other stanchions have scre inside out, this one is forward aft for some reason. I'll get better pictures, probably with new screw and I'll report if that fixed it.
