beneteau 37

What do owners think about this Boat. Heavy weather, comfort, speed.? I'm trying to decide between a new 37 and possibly a 2001 46, 2 very diffrent boats but one is new. The 46 is in pretty good shape overall, will need sails soon and new lines more than likely. Money/cost about the same for both

The 461 is a nice large boat. I know someone with one and he's very happy with it. It's a more traditional design with darker woods and lots of curves in the cabin. The 37 is also a nice boat but of course has a modern euro look to it. Lighter woods, squared off woodwork and seats, etc. Sailed along with one and it kept pace with larger boats so I know they're fast. The 37 will have the latest equipment but will probably need additional gear to make it the way you want it. The 46 will have lots of gear but it wont be the latest technology. They're so different I'm not sure you can really compare to each other. You should be able to compare each to what you prefer most in a boat as well as how you plan on using it. If you're just day sailing then the 37 would be my choice. If you prefer to cruise on weekends and vacations then the 46 would be the way to go.
