Beneteau 36cc - top lift

The toplift wire on my Beneteau 36 cc is broken.

The boom vang - sparcraft - is strong enough to prevent the boom to fall down.

I am therefore wondering if is worth replacing the broken wire.

Any tips ?

My two cents worth would be to replace, perhaps with rope rather than wire. Although the vang is perfectly capable of supporting the boom,the topping lift line would make a good safety line if you have to go up the mast on a bosun's chair, and could be used as a spare halyard in a pinch.
