Hi all,
I have a Beneteau 311 (2000) and recently the refrigerator has stopped working. After investigation it appears that there is no electricity getting to it leading me to believe that a fuse has blown. After lengthy searching I can not find a fuse for it anywhere on the boat. Could anyone help me out and enlighten me as to where the fuse unit is located for the refrigerator?
Thanks.

Usually there are two breaker/fuses in the circuits. One is the fridge fuse or breaker on the panel, the other fuse is built in on the electronic module (if it's an Adler Barbour/WAECO unit at least). If, however, you're not getting any power to the unit, then it could be a connection somewhere along the wire run. Good luck playing detective.

There isn't a breaker on the panel for the fridge. The fridge is actually a Frigoboat. I have had an electrician in and he can't find a fuse either. I am stumped. Any ideas? Please!!!!!!

I have a 2004 311 and also have a Frigoboat refer. However I have a switch/breaker on the electrical panel (maybe Beneteau added the switch in later model years). I traced the wires all the way back to panel from the unit and there is no fuse on either the wires or unit itself. Just as an aside do you always leave the unit on? I do but a lot of people turn the refer off when they are not on the boat. Sorry I couldn't help

I really appreciate you looking. Thanks for that. No we don't leave the fridge on when we are not on it. We turn the batteries off. I am stumped then as I can't find a fuse or a breaker anywhere.
Thanks again.

Widgeon, then maybe, just maybe, your fridge power is tied to one of your red switches in the aft cabin. Your main battery on switches. Is that where the power to the fridge comes from? Means whenever you turn your house bank on the fridge comes on? Do you not have the two red switches and one black in the aft cabin?

It could be that the fridge is a dealer added option, not factory, so could have been wired by a chimp! :)

If you have a fridge pumpout breaker, mine is on the same breaker as the fridge itself. B323.

Only 2 main red switches, 1 for domestic use and 1 for engine.
You may be right about being fitted by a dealer, in which case I may never find the fuse location, if it exists at all.

Don't have a fridge pump out, only a drain pipe from the fridge. Thanks for the suggestion.

According to the B311 owner's manual, there's a 10A frig breaker on the main panel. It is not possible not to have a breaker as it would be in violation of just about a dozen marine and electrical codes. Keep looking and tracing wires.

It is probably a number 8 wire on the back of the panel unless there is that goofy WAGO connection block- a source of troubles itself. The wires are probably numbered at both ends for identification.

Ron20324,
I will certainly get the No 8 wire checked out, to see if it is relevant. Many Thanks.

Wow they made a lot of changes from 2000 to 2004. On my boat in the head under the sink there are 3 valves connected to a pump, depending on which valve is open the pump draws water from the fridge drain; the shower sump or bilge.

I have an owners manual although it is a 2002 Rev00 version and the diagrams match my boat. I checked on line and that's the the only version I can find:

I'll check later on today and see if have have any documents on the fridge

Thanks very much, let me know if you find the fridge fuse location. It seems like someone has altered the feed and I need to discover how.

If you have the same model as I do (Paris 35F; there is a sticker on the top of the unit with the model) the unit does not have a fuse. The installer is expected to install a 15 amp fuse between the battery and switch and the unit. There are fuses on the unit on other models but not this little one.

I have attached a PDF of part of the manual that has a test procedure and two diagrams

Thanks for taking the trouble to send the manual for the 'Paris 35F', I am planning to continue my investigations tomorrow to find where the electrical feed is from, together with the 15 amp fuse.
