Belt size for M3-20

We seem to be having a problem locating the correct size belt for our Universal M3-20. All pulleys are stock items. Factory part # is 302084, (over $43 bucks) but that puts the alternator almost out to the end of adjustment range. Gates gives #7355 which is 36.18" OD; the same as the original! Wondering if anyone has found a belt just about 1/2" smaller circumference? comment, ideas anyone?

OK folks... Took a bit of digging on the interweb, but I finally came across a site that explains all of the various belt types and dims. looks like I might have figured this out. Everything points to Gates 3VX355, but for some reason that's too long so I'm ordering up a 3VX350 which is 1/2" shorter. We'll see how that works out...

1/2 in shorter is only 1/4 inch distance when doubled around the pulley.

Great news! The 350 belt fits great. Alternator now halfway down on the adjustor bracket. Plenty of room for adjustment now.
