Hi all and first a heart felt thanks for all the good wishes, offers of a place to stay, and follow up calls after Gustav paid a visit. What a great bunch. Either by chance or fate, I seem to have ended up the clearing house for this area. Happy to report that with one exception there was no boat damage as far as I know. Those in Marina Del Ray, as best I can find out are all fine. All here is good. Minor damage. Mostly to the dock, a couple pieces of siding gone from the deck. One shutter blown off the front of the house. Thats it. Attached, I hope, is a before pic, of the boat and preperation. Note the lines from the small skiff in the sling, to keep it from drifting out, should the water get that high.

Marina Del Ray did fine...

I appreciate that information. I have been unable to find anything out about Marina Del Ray. I was hearing predictions of a 16 foot storm surge and the floating docks only allow for about 11 to 12 feet. I'll try to make it by there this weekend if Ike isn't getting us.

I have a report from Orleans Marina in New Orleans

The orleans marina tenants association web site is reporting that all the boats in Orleans marina came through ok. Some scuffing on pilings, but little or no damage, none sunk. Water came up to the 3rd step on the finger piers. Supposedly the flood gates are open so access to the marina is normal and the power in the marina is on.

Just passing this on, haven't seen for myself.

Saw one sailboat sunk and one or two washed out of the harbor along with some shrimp boats in Pass Christian harbor. There is a Hunter 42 sitting atop pier one and a larger sailboat (45'?) standing on it's keel and leaning on the seawall along hwy 90 at Long Beach Harbor. Several other smaller sail and power also washed ashore both harbors. Long Beach Harbor itself appears in pretty good shape so maybe we'll be able to get our boats back in soon. But probably no electricity again. I knew it was too good to be true!
