Isn't it the case, flawless day and the engine starts and runs poor at a mid rpm, put it in neutral and it dies and will not restart. My guess is in the fuel getting to injectors ??? Ideas

Start with replacing All fuel filters first and bleed system
A+

Many, many cheap things to check before ploughing a truck load of money into it.

Just read of one poster who started at the expensive end (with no luck) and will probably be working back towards the simpler causes of his problem,

A big thank you, checked my filters and bled the lines, it started right up! Air is good but not in the lines. Until I figure out how to fix something I assume it's going to cost me that 100 plus per hour and I worry about it. Thanks again for your help all

Ok bad news, stripped filter housing and bad fuel pump = 1200 dollars in repairs. Well that's the price of boats

So what happened between all good and $$
The bleed screw would not tighten down enough to stop fuel from leaking, the housing had to be replaced. The pump was just not working good enough and got worse trying to pump all the air out, replaced. There is two alternators and a water maker pump in the way, lots of $135 a hour time to remove, fix and replace.

I think stripping that filter bleed screw is common--at least on the Yanmar--because folks don't replace the plastic washer every time, which is the solution rather than super tightness.
