I have a problem and Id like some imput from you all, maybe you have had simular problems and Id be courious on your fix.I have a 27, the problem is, in heavy wind when the starboard shrouds are windward, Ive noticed a bit more flexing in the deck, especially at the lower shroud anchor points. Only the upper shroud goes thru deck to a chainplate afixed to the bulkhead, for the lowers the chainplates are imbedded in the deck. After investigating I have found that the starboard deck has had major repair work done (poor job at that, also the surveyor failed to uncover the repair, but thats another story) I really dont like the way O'Day anchored the lower chainplates, but it must be for a reason, one would figure that they would have run them to the hull. Well while uncovering the mess Ive noticed that core material is at its minimum in use, now I dont know if O'Day didnt use it in this area or was it bypassed in the repair (I'll have to call Rudy on that one I guess) My question is this: How would you strengthen the deck?as always your imput is appricated.richj
