We have just purchased a Hunter 30, 1981, and I'm trying to devise bedding for the vee berth. What size sheets(bed that is) do I need to make something work?

Queen Sheets

Hey There, We've got a Hunter 34. My wife took some queen sheets and safety pins and made a temporary sheet for the v-berth. Works great. M

Twin Sheets

modified two set of fitted twin sheets to fit v-berth cushions on my '79 H30. I fit the sheets to the straight side along the hull. Then, marked the places where the sheet extended at the foot, bent at the hips and ended at the head. I cut along the line that connected these points. After trimming, I sewed the edge back on to make the sheet fit. Hindsight says I should have made some pictures of the process. I haven't concerned myself with top sheets and simply let them overlap.

Funny subject, but . . .

an important one. We do it like Mike. Separate sheets are easier to make up, especially if you get into the v-berth lockers very often. The previous owner was a seamstress and made up fitted sheets with elastic. I am not that industrious. We just cut away some of the extra and sew the new seams. Like I said, "just like Mike".

I'll file this away for future reference

when the boat goes back in the water. We used a king-size sheet but the twin sheet idea is a much better solution.
