I am trying to make plans to move my boat "Trilogy" from the Chesapeake to Jacksonville FL this fall. My current plan is to first move the boat to Norfolk from the upper bay. Then do a short ocean passage to Beaufort NC. Probably leave it NC for a week to a month. Then do an offshore passage from Beaufort to Jacksonville staying inside the gulf stream. I have a fair bit of offshore experience taking boats to Bermuda and BVI, but have never done this offshore coastal trip. I heard it works well from a Swan captain that moves his boat to Miami from RI. Any opinions? It seems you would not be much more than 60 mi offshore. Additionally, in looking at the historic wind data from the offshore buoys in the SE for 2003 it seems there is very little wind untill late Nov. Any advice on this trip would be appreciated. Thanks, Tom
