Beaching a Hunter 40.5 by the pier

Hello Sailors.

Down south in Ushuaia, Argentina we "beached" this Morgan 51 by the pier, tied it by the mast and all lines so it won't fall on the side, and then cleaned the bottom very fast and without costs or delays for lifting it out of the water.

I own Preciosa, a 1997 Hunter Legend 40.5.

The Hunter 40.5 has a winged keel and I have been told that then it is possible to do this operation.

Has any body done this?
Or heard about it?
What do you think about it?

Thank for the comments.

I have a 1997 h40.5. I would not do this, but I am very conservative. Is there not a diver available? Or a short haul and pressure wash?

My fear is that "something" would go wrong and I would have a disaster.

It should be ok ... every Hunter up north stands on it's keel all winter long balanced by jack stands

That can only be done at certain lattitudes in the deep Northern or deep Southern hemispheres were tides can drain the water under a boat. There are some European boats designed with dual keels so they can sit perfectly balanced on the bottom. Some deploy leeboards and others lower poles as crutches. I would not try it on such a heavy boat with a fin keel whether wing or not.

What opinion would your insurer have on this? I think that is an important consideration. Having owned a 40.5, I would not take this risk.

Thanks for the answers. I forgot this thread, dumb of me. It was a question out of curiosity.
Then I was told by my friend and previous owner that used it for charter that once itgot loose offthe buoy. Then he got a call from a beach a few miles away. "Hey your boat is here, come get it"
When he went over, the boat had grounded. Standing still and vertical like a statue. no water touching the keel, high up over the sand.
They went onboard with a ladder.
I wouldn´t have done that, fearing any instability may make it fall.
Survived the beaching though.
