Has anyone ever beached a H260 to clean her hull? As it is very hard to clean the hull where the H260 sits on her trailer bunks, I was thinking of beaching my H260 this summer to clean these areas. Other than emptying out the water ballast before beaching does anyone have any thoughts on, or experience with, beaching a H260?

Pick a spot with sand and no rocks. You can careen her from side to side by having someone pull at the top of the mast with the halyard. Do not get under the hull. Work fast and watch the tide.
I personally would not take the chance of beaching the 260. Remember you have a water ballast tank lid across the bottom of the hull and one mistake, you will break that lid and in some places it is difficult to repair. Had to repair one once as a dealer for the 260
I don’t think you ever want to let the weight of the boat rest on the retracted centerboard, even temporarily, so I don’t know how you’d do this.

It's easier to clean the hull if it's in the water, 'cause all the crud is soft. That's what my diver tells me, so I always schedule a cleaning the day before I haul out to re paint the bottom.
So, for sure go find a nice beach and tether your boat next to it... you can get a long brush, or a pair of diving goggles and go for it... easy peasy. If the beach is steep, do one side then flip the boat around to do the other.
Careening the boat, or tipping it with the mast halyard, uh...no. Not necessary.

Only by accident with the 26 at Kismet. Would not do because of water tank and centerboard. Call me when you pull your boat and want to sail. I've been playing around a bit, still looking for a place to haul, paint and service the honda.
