Be Careful out there!!

[Bad Obsession]

It is hot here in the mid-Atlantic. It is WAY too hot! Heat index temperatures are around 110.

To top this off there was the mother of all storms that came through the area the other day. There was a lot of damage and a lot of power loss in the area. Some places are still without power.

Be careful out there if you are sailing. This weather is dangerous.

The heat and solar gain are such that the metal fittings on our boat were too hot to touch with a bare hand. A very real danger of minor burns.

We were out on "Shiloh" this weekend; on Sunday, for the first time ever, the decks were to hot for bare feet...On Saturday night the big storm went just to the north of us as we were anchored on the Piankatank River- we were treated to a fantastic display of lightning.
