Still working it
I had to take a break from it for a short time. The pivot end of the board is still stuck in the housing, but I have a plan. I have a long (14" x 3/8") drill bit and I plan to drill along the side of the board until it loosens-up and drops off. If that doesnt work I'll have to drop the C/B housing and remove it from the top. Repairing the board is another matter. Once I have both peices on my work bench I'll be able to see if I can fix it. If it's unfixable I will make my own to replace it.I will be back to work on it full time this week. I will post my progress for you to study. I have documented the entire process and plan to put together a how-to blog as soon as I'm finished. On another note, after much studying I found a product (Rust Bullet rust inhibitor coating) that should help in keeping the housing from re-rusting and avoid this from happening again. I have included the link. Beleive me - I don't want to have to do this again.Keep your eyes open for my post, I will be back to work in the morning.
