I converted my 6 cu ft box using the guts from a dorm size refrigerator. The label says it draws 1 amp @ 120v, which equates to about 10 amps @ 12 v DC. If it is "on" 60% of the time, that would take 6 amp hours per hour from the battery. If you have an 80 amp hour battery, and want to limit the discharge to 40% of battery capacity, that leaves 48 amp hours available - so 48/6=8 hours available run time. If you are going to run an AC unit by means of an inverter, the start up load can be 3 or 4 times the running losd, and the inverter has to be sized for this load. I use a 1000 watt with a 1400 peak capacity inverter.
