I have a solar panel that I plan on using this summer to charge my battery. It is a Siemens one that measures about 14 by 50 inches. I do plan on using a regulator with it, so that it should not boil the battery after it is fully charged. My question is, Does the battery need to be vented to keep fumes from building-up in the closed cabin of the boat? I have thought about installing little hoses onto the battery caps and extending them out to the cockpit (sort of the way that motorcycle battery batteries are vented). Thanks for any suggestions.
