It time to replace my two house batteries (4D) and I am looking for someplace other than WM to shop for batteries in San Diego. Anybody have a recommendation??

Bob, Check out automotive parts stores. They probably wont have what you are looking for but they might be willing to order for you. Ray T

Batteries Plus is where

I got my battery for my BMW. But my boat, I use Wal-Mart. Can't beat the price. Don't know if they have 4D though. I don't think they do. So try Battery Plus.

Also consider Sears who have marine deep cycle batteries

and check out if there's a local American Battery outlet near you - (3) 130 AH Group 31s two or three years ago for $95 each.

Watch the auto supply stores

I bought 2 125 ah deep cycles from Pep Boys couple of years ago. Was the only place convenient at the time. Price was pretty good, but they were toast in a year. The warranty is a year. Went to Sam's and got 4 golf cart batteries. 65 bucks each, and I now have a 450Ah house bank, for a little less than 300 bucks.
