battery monitors

we're looking to install a battery monitor on our Catalina 310......which of these two would be recommended.....Victron BMV-600S or Xantrex Link Lite.......suggestions on installation location would also be appreciated......I'm thinking just above the electrical panel to the left of the VHF......any other location make more sense?

I would say a Trimetric 2025rv. Small, works Great, easy to program and can mount just about anywhere. Just another option.

The battery bug

It measures the amps to start your engine and calculates if your battery has the juice to start it again. Very useful tool.

The company has several versions. Battery mount, or cockpit mount. Has a warning beep if you need to think about charging the engine. Also tells you when to replace your battery.
