What is an SPD switch? Did this monitor come with a "power plug" or can you wire it to the batteries (or a switch as you did)?
Greg, It came with a small plug that plugged into the side of the small digital LCD monitor (with a mounting bracket). It had a 6 Ft. 2 conductor cable (small wire size) that went to a "cigarret lighter" plug so you could plug into an outlet. The display unit has a settable audible alarm can turn audible on or off) settable from 10.5 Vdc to 13.8 Vdc. I cut off the Cigarette lighter plug and put terminals on the ends and connected them directly to the battery. I later got a DPST (double pole single throw) switch and connected it in line with the monitor cable. That let me completely disconnect the monitor from the battery. I use a separate monitor for each battery. The 2 monitors are just to the right of the Lev-O-Gage inclinometer.
