Battery issue 1994 Legend 375

I’m a Newby and purchased this boat in 2017. I was having battery problems last summer and finally realized that there wasn’t a start battery installed. I will install a battery this spring and would like to know the best location. Is it supposed to be in the battery locker with the house batteries or somewhere else?

Hi. I have a '91 Legend 375 and all batteries are in the aft starboard locker. I have 3 (Interstate) batteries: A 12-volt starter battery plus two 6-volt deep discharge batteries (wired in series to give 12 volts) as the house bank with the original Perko 1,2,all battery switch that is original to the boat.

I have two house batteries (gel) and a starter battery (wet) in the starboard aft quarter storage locker. I built a 1 x 4 frame o keep them from floating around when heeling.
