I took this photo of my battery to see if I could get more info. I went to Centenial and found... nothing, other than this model battery has a CCA of 650 amps. But there is no information on the aH of the battery. How can I determine what the ampHour rating of the battery is with the information provided? I have noticed that batteries aH are about 10% of the CCA. But that is a SWAG if at best. Any thoughts?

My guess...

is: 75 to 85 amp/hours is about average for a good type 27 deep cycle battery, less for a no-name. If it weighs under 50 pounds, go lower than that.

Centennial batteries

...I googled "centennial batteries" for your info.....check the FAQ page for info on amp hours. Your Group 27 battery is rated at 105 http://www.centennialbattery.com/RVMarine.htm http://www.centennialbattery.com/faqs.htm (last question has table)

That's funny...

I too googled and found that same web page. I guess I didn't look at all the FAQ's. I also sent them an email. 105 seems awefully high when other batteries of the same type are as stated, about 65 to 85. We'll see what they say. Thanks

Received this info this morning:

"Your request was forwarded to me, and I can help you out. You are right, the "Amp Hour Capacity" ratings are becoming harder and harder to find. With the introduction of "Reserve Capacity" ratings, most manufacturers have stopped providing the AH Capacity info for their rv/marine batteries. Fortunately, I was able to find the ratings on the batteries you requested. The DC27 is a 105AH battery. As a result of your inquiry, I am going to see if I can have that rating added to the specification page of the Centennial website. Thank you for your question."

Very Interesting...

Brian. The WM deep cycle 27 is rated at 90 AH and the dual purpose 27 is rated at 80 AH. Their type 31 battery however is rated at 105 AH. As said before, I'd be skeptical of their rating if yours weighs less than 53-55 pounds.

Also save WMP catalogs

or use their website. The old catalogs (2 or 3 years old) have the info right there in the electrical section with the batteries. What else ya got to read on the throne? :)
