Battery fuse

I am increasing my house battery pack from two T105 to four T105. To do this I have relocate the batteries and re-route all the wiring. Somebody at the marina said that the fuse should be also relocated, preferably within a 1' from the battery. Is this necessary?

Yes. A short or overload doesn't care where you relocate the bank.

Yes the fuse should be relocated but no more the 7" from the battery.

The easiest way to do this is with a Marine Rated Battery Fuse.

Ayeyup. MRBF on the terminal is the easy way to go. Only use something else if you're height limited.

When you move stuff make sure you increase wire size as necessary as wirelength increases.

Auto makers have been fusing batteries since the 60’s ( fuseable links in the barrery wire). Boats only lately since ABYC requires it.
