Battery charging question.

Assuming the wiring on my 1998 Hunter wiring (OEM) and Heart Interface charger/inverter is correct.....

Does it matter if battery switch is "on or off" when charging batteries from shore power??

Some installers wire I/C's direct to the battery with a fuse or breaker close to the battery (or it SHOULD be). Some go through the battery switch then to a fuse or breaker..

With the battery switch OFF can you invert to AC? If you can the I/C by-passes the switch and you should be able to charge with the battery switch off.

The easiest method is to simply trace the IC's DC wiring...

And how exactly do you know this without seeing how it is wired into the vessel?

If you abuse them, then you may have to replace them as early as two years.

Taken care of I have numerous customers with battery banks surpassing 10 years. Hell I have a bank of Wal*Mart batteries that are going into their 7th year still at better than 90% of new capacity.

Batteries don't die, they are usually murdered by their owners..
