Battery Charging Issue

Hello,

I have a 1978 ODay 27 with a starting battery and a house battery. I recently installed a marine 2 bank battery charger.

The charger seems to work fine, it charges and conditions both batteries like it is supposed to. My question is this. When the charger is plugged into shore power, if I attempt to use any 12 volt systems such as the VHF or the bilge pump comes on, I pop the shoreside circuit breaker for the shore power.

What am I missing here, anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening?

Neither are serious loads. Sounds like a bad connection to shore power
