inverter/charger
What Terry is describing is an inverter/charger. That's a pretty handy thing, and something you might be interested in for your 30-foot cruiser. It's always nice to be able to plug in 110-volt appliances while at anchor. But the device he describes probably costs around $1000 from Store4Power.com, and that's because it does way more than charge batteries. It is a refurbished unit, the retail price for a brand new one is around twice that much!Anyway, if you don't want all the fancy inverter stuff, you can get a simple 20-amp dual bank charger for much, much less. Check westmarine.com and you'll find plenty of selection. And you don't necessarily need a two-bank charger. If you have the infamous 1-All-2-Off battery switch, you really would have to rewire to use a dual-bank charger anyway.Paulsv Escape Artisth336
