battery charger

I have an 1981 Catalina 30 and am interested in installing a shore power battery charger. Does anyone have a suggestion for a location?

Just installed mine

On right outside of nav station cabinet over the quarter berth. This is a fairly small 10 amp, two battery, 3 stage Guest charger. It is out of sight but easy to read by looking around the corner. It is high enough to be out the way of anyone sleeping on the berth and it installing took a few screws and making a 1" hole through to the batteries in nav station cabinet with a hole saw on the drill.Chris

Batt Charger

I just recently installed a 10 amp, 3 stage, waterproof, 2 bank guest in my 78 Catalina. I installed it in the compartment under the port outside bench. My Batteries are located by the engine. This location is close to my electrical panel, provides fairly short wire lengths (for minimal voltage drop) to both batteries and proper ventalation to allow the charger to operate at cool temps. It also puts it in an easily to see and reach location to monitor charging status.

Just installed mine too.

Wanted to put it in the cabinet under nav station but Quest suggests not mounting horizontally. So I too put it the the right of the nav. E-Z!!!
