What size are the oem batteries on the Hunter 31'? The previous owner put some monster batteries onboard that didn't fit and kinked the raw water intake hose. I'm not sure if I should get 1 deep cycle and 1 start or 2 deep or 2 start? Is there anyone who knows how its wired to the starter?? thanks...jake

probably G27

Jake: They were probably group 27's, but I had group 31's on our H'31. I ended up with a single Optima for the starter and 1 group 31 for the house and 2 group 31's for the refrigeration. This was setup to recharge the refrigeration batteries only with the 110vac charger. The house keeping and starter were charged with the alternator and 110vac.

What I would do!

One 12v starting battery and if you have the room two 6V deep cycle house batteries. I have four Trojan 105 = 220 amp. hrs each for the house. As per how your starter is wired go to your battery switch #2 should be for starting if it is the cable should go from the switch #2 side to the starter.

Thanks

Thanks everyone. The lake isn't that big that we can't get to a slip for the night. When the kids get older, we'll add batteries for campouts! Thanks again.
