I'm sure you will find a difference in price between Sam's and West Marine so be sure to check the warranty and return policy of each retailer. Another point would be to check how fresh is the battery being purchased. I would think the retailer with the higher number of sales would have their stock sitting for a shorter time on the shelf. Due to self discharge a battery that sits for too long on the shelf may only be able to provide a reduced capacity.

I bought a set of Walmart deep cycle batteries about 6 years ago. Still going strong. I use them as house and start batteries. batty 1 on odd numbered days and batty 2 on even numered days. They've served me well.
