I purchased a 1977 30 and i want to replace the refrigerator that is installed.its dead. I have heard that I should consider changing the way the batteries operate, also that going to multiple 6 volt batters instead of 2 12vs. I am a novice so bear with me. i do not have an ampmeter.

Batteries are for energy storage, and refrigerators are one of the loads. You need to calculate how much comes out of your house bank, and how much goes in.
