My Beneteau 361 has a classic (non furling) mainsail. The top two battens are "full" (they go all the way to the luff.) The pockets for the bottom two battens go almost all the way to the luff, but the battens in mine are about half the length of the pocket (approx. five foot batten in a 10 foot pocket). The pocket has a secondary "catch" for these shorter battens. Can anyone tell me why? (I do have a "stack pack" sail cover with lazy jacks attached and wondered if that has something to do with it.)
