What are the lengths of the top two battens on the H 260. (2000 with Doyle sails) I lost them in heavy wind over the weekend and I want two make up a couple of new ones. Thanks for your help. PS I measured them but I lost my sheet of paper and the Boat is an hour and a half away. If I remember correctly they were 39" and 5'7".

Hey Tim

What do you suggest when one of those batten "envelopes" has developed a tear in it? Is there something I can do easily on my own without having to send the sail off and the downtime involved with that?

240 batten lengths

Ross, I added batten lengths to the drawing in the link. Sounds like you lost a lower - me too. From now on I put sail repair tape over the flap to keep the little buggers in there. Darren, I think sail repair tape would work fine on a small cut too.

I was always loosing battens

in particular the very top one so what I did was put batten tips on them all, a kind of triangular shaped bit of plastic with a hole, and tie them in. The other important thing to do is make sure the valcro strip actually goes thru the sleeve adn then pressed down. Simply going around the end of the batten and fixing to the valcro does not work.
